Yielded Soil is Produced Through The Fires of Affliction

You were not meant to carry yesterday’s residue into tomorrow’s promise.

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”- 2 Corinthians 3:18

This verse above speaks of a progression. As your obedience grows, so too does the impact of the revelation of HIs glory upon your life. Calling is activated not by readiness but by willingness and surrender. Don’t wait for certainty, but start by being obedient in the small steps right in front of you. Readiness is much more important than speed, otherwise you may be crushed by the weight of what’s coming if you’re not prepared to carry it.

God knows what he’s doing. He is preparing you to be strong enough to carry what He’s bringing and for you to know you’ll only be able to do it by fully relying on His strength. Fire has always been the language of God’s transformation. He doesn’t use fire to destroy you, but rather to define you. He uses it to reveal who you truly are. Fire doesn’t weaken gold, it strengthens it. See Isaiah 48:10 “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” God uses fire to detoxify your your soul from what cannot accompany you any longer. It must be discarded through the fires of affliction. You were not meant to carry yesterday’s residue into tomorrow’s promise.

God never asks for perfection, he asks for permission. Faith thrives in yielded soil. When you stop striving, you create space for God to move mighty in your life. We must be very careful not to cling to trying to control our circumstances. If we do, we might find out what we think we have, really has us. We might find out what we think we’re in control of is actually in control of us. Instead, we must trust in God above all else. He alone brings the peace we need to truly enjoy the ups and downs of life.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.

It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”- Jeremiah 17:7-8
