Be Present
The past is history, the future is a mystery, but the present is a gift.
Everyone I know is anxious about the future. Information moves so fast, we feel like we need to keep up, but it really all feels like a mirage. What exactly are we keeping up with? The internet and social media is just a mirage of opinions and viewpoints, many of which are born out of fear and loathing.
However, God has been teaching me lately to work on being present in the now. The now is all we have. Even though God holds all of our tomorrow's in His hands, He never stops working in the now. So we must learn not to ask God to bless the tomorrow that we’re anxious for when he’s trying to teach us valuable lessons in our faith today. In fact, He's usually strengthening our faith today to be prepared for what's coming tomorrow. God deals in the present. Change happens in the present. Yes He holds the tomorrow’s of your future in his hands, but He is focused on growing your faith right now. The enemy wants us anxious about the future, or regretful about the past, but God is in the present. Find your strength there.
