From Scars to Redemption and Healing

Everyone is wounded. What is denied cannot be healed. Bring it into the light!

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30

Everyone I know has been wounded in some way. Wounds leave scars. Scars tell stories. Stories matter. The world is full of pain and suffering. We must admit that we have been wounded by the brokenness of this world in order to begin the healing process. What is denied cannot be healed. It must be brought into the light. God wants to heal us through His Son Jesus Christ who in Matthew 11:28-30 above invites us to give him all the heaviness and weight we carry from our woundedness. We should take him up on His offer.

I did and He healed me in a way I didn't expect. He set me free by teaching me how to forgive and move forward with the affirmation I had been seeking from the world, but that could only really come from God. His love is truly other worldly and testifies to our truth worth. The proof of victory is that it transforms what once hurt now into what heals. The scars that once felt like shame, have turned into stories of redemption, drawing others towards hope. My scars become lanterns of hope for those walking through darkness, and yours can too. Augustine said “in my deepest wound. I saw your glory and it dazzled me." So true. So powerful. Scars are no longer a sign of your defeat rather but of a victory already won in heaven. What the enemy thought would defeat you, is the testimony God will use through you. Let 2 Corinthians 3:17 be your anthem. Who the Son sets free, is free indeed! "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
