The Hope of Future Glory
Hold On. There is hope in the future glory that is coming.
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God."- Romans 5:1-2
As Christians, we have hope that is not circumstantial but that is forward looking as we put all of our hope in the glory of God that is yet to be revealed. But we know without a doubt that one day it will be revealed, and so our task is to see above the noise and the chaos of this present world, and to see the hope of the glory that is yet to come.
Isaiah 40:5 promises "And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” When God speaks, nothing can undo it. It is a sure thing at that point! if He said it, you should believe it. This thought helps to remind us of how to move from fear to faith by rejoicing in the hope of the glory of God.
Romans 8:18 says "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." Oh, how we need to remember this as we press forward towards that future glory, building endurance and perseverance through the obstacles and setbacks we face. We can win the race if we focus on God's future glory, and not on the deceitfulness, distraction and divisiveness of this present time.
Here's the headline that hasn't changed since Calvary and never will. God won and God always wins! We just need to keep holding on a little longer until we see all His glory face to face. 1Corinthians 13:12 gives me such hope as it promises "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." What a hope in that future glory we have as His children!
