Light vs Darkness
Jesus Is the Light of the World. We need Him in our battle with the darkness.
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”- 1 John 1:5
If we’re being honest, we all struggle with the battle between light and darkness. It is a rough fight, as in our souls we really want the light, but the darkness keeps pulling us down.

Brandon Lake’s lyrics from the song Hard Fought Hallelujah, strike a cord with all of us. We have all struggled with the darkness and yet something within us is always reaching for the light. Jesus Christ is the light of the world, he’s the one that our soul is trying to reach out to. We have an infinite need in our soul that can only be satisfied when we meet with the infinite One himself. That is just an irrefutable fact. When we fight against it, that is what leads us to be pulled back down into the darkness. We must learn to release our need to try to figure things out in our own way, and instead surrender to the plans of the One who alone knows the best path for us because He created us.
The path to find the light is filled with peace and freedom if we can get there, but in order to get there, we have to stop compromising and allowing the darkness to pull us back down. And in some respects it is a daily battle. But God has all the power that he has given us through the Holy Spirit who lives in those who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. If that’s you, you don’t need to fight. You just need to rely on the Holy Spirit. Zechariah 4:6 says so: "‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty." You + the Holy Spirit = a majority. Never forget that in your battle against the darkness. Even the darkest cave can be illuminated by a single match. When Jesus walked into any situation, the darkness had to flee, because He is the light of the world. So if He is living within you, then the darkness has to flee. Remember that as you go about your daily struggle. The light living within you overcomes any darkness around you.
