What a powerful and profound truth the quote above from Tim Keller speaks. Mercy received from God needs to flow through us to others. This is the power of God's kingdom in action. We have received unending mercy from our Lord and so we should easily pass it on to others who are desperate to receive mercy instead of judgment. The world is so quick to judge, buy God is quick with mercy. James 2;13 says "because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment."
Mercy must slow down, in a busy world. Mercy sees what others ignore. Mercy flows from the ones who remember what it’s like to be on the side of the road. See the story of the good Samaritan in Luke 10. That is what Kingdom mercy and compassion look like. We as followers of Christ should be quick to pass it on.
