Everything Other Than God is Shifting Sand.
God alone is the solid rock upon which we can stand.
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”- Matthew 7:24-27
Most people live a life of quiet desperation. Why? I believe because in our pride, we try to find security in anything other than God. When in fact, God is the only place we can find true security. Everything else is shifting sand. God is the only one that is secure through all the storms and valleys of life. He is the one that sustains us, He is the one who holds us. Everything else is fleeting and will make us feel unstable. Only God alone can give us the true stability that our souls long for.
The enemy wants to occupy the promises for your life that God has for you. You must defeat the enemy with praise and worship and prayer. It could be a stronghold of sin, it could be an idol. It could be a habit. It could be bitterness. It could be a wound. It could be a discouragement. It could be something from the past, whatever it is, this is your Dome of the rock -the thing that most exemplifies spiritual warfare because the enemy doesn’t want you to achieve what God has for you. But the spirit of the Lord has all the power and so as long as you praise, pray and worship him the enemy has to flee and the Lord will bring all of that to fruition. When we spend time in God’s presence, we discover the joy, peace, wisdom, strength, security, and blessings of being with Jesus and we will be prepared for life's difficult challenges.
