From Worry to prayer
Prayer is the antidote for worry. Surrender is not giving up, it's giving it over to God!
It's been said that worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair; It gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere. Worrying never solves the problems of tomorrow but it steals the joy of today. That is especially true in our faith walk with God. Worrying shows a lack of trust in God's ability to deal with our problems. It puts the focus on our weakness instead of on God's strength.
This isn't to diminish the very real problems we are facing, but rather to acknowledge our need for God to help us find peace in the midst of the struggles. The antidote for worry is prayer. Prayer is a sign of trusting in God's provision. It shifts our focus off of us and on to Him. It allows Him room to move in our circumstances. So every time you find yourself worrying, stop and pray. It can be as simple as "God please take this burden off of me. I need your help Lord. Help me feel your peace in the middle of this storm. I need you Lord." Try it. I promise you more peace.
