C.S. Lewis Quotes- New Ending

C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite Christian writers of all time, and he has many quotes that are full of wisdom and guidance for successful living and to help us understand how to apply deep biblical truths. We will look at some of these over the next few weeks in hopes they bless us mightily as we learn to apply them to our life as seen in context of scripture. Here's one with real practical advice: "You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."- C.S. Lewis

Many people are regretful about poor decisions that they made in the past that continue to haunt them. Our enemy satan wants us regretful about our past because he can hold us in bondage there. But God sees things in a different light and C.S. Lewis gives us a practical way to understand this. God has wiped our past clean in Christ Jesus and now He wants to use us as we are right now to move forward in accomplishing the plans He has for our life. The Bible says in Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

God wastes nothing, and even our past mistakes can be valuable learning tools. But don't ask God to bless the tomorrow that you’re anxious for when he’s trying to teach you valuable lessons in your faith being strengthened today. God deals in the present. Change happens in the present. Yes he holds the tomorrow’s of your future in his hands, but he is focused on growing your faith right now. The enemy wants us anxious about the future, or regretful about the past, but God is in the present. Find your strength there. C.S. Lewis says we can "start where we are right now, and change our ending." That is great advice. God agrees 100%. Let's go!
