Bible For Dummies 25.
God wastes nothing and He always finishes what He starts. That includes you!
I am creating a new series called The Bible For Dummies. It is not meant as a condescending title, but rather an attempt to see deep biblical truths that are easy to apply to our lives for better living in a distracted and busy world. So many people feel stressed and overwhelmed. Many people are carrying heavy wounds. Jesus can heal and restore all. He's the only one.
"being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."- Philippians 1:6
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.'- Psalm 24:4
You may look at the two verses above and think that they have nothing in common, but I would disagree. God wastes nothing and uses everything to draw us closer to Jesus. Sometimes, He allows us to go through deep valleys that feel very dark and painful. But I have found that even there His presence surrounds us, and He gives us peace even in the midst of great sorrow or suffering. From there, we become stronger and rely more on our Shepherd's voice to lead us and guide us.
Then God uses those experiences as we walk through the fires of affliction to strengthen and refine us for our next calling. We emerge more prepared and more reliant on Him, so He truly does waste nothing. It is not fun or comfortable, but it does prepare us for our higher calling and purpose for which we were created, which truly gives our life meaning. So, my conclusion is the two verses are very connected and relevant as we work out our faith with fear and trembling for the glory of God. He uses all the experiences to lead us to finishing the work He has began in us throughout our lifetime.
