Bible For Dummies 24.
The Bible contains the answers for what we are seeing and feeling on the earth right now. It is imperative to understand what God's word says to be victorious amidst the tension.
I am creating a new series called The Bible For Dummies. It is not meant as a condescending title, but rather an attempt to see deep biblical truths that are easy to apply to our lives for better living in a distracted and busy world. So many people feel stressed and overwhelmed. Many people are carrying heavy wounds. Jesus can heal and restore all. He's the only one.
We all know something is very wrong in the world. We can sense it, we can feel it, we can see it. Everyone is walking around wounded. You can see it in their eyes. People feel let down, betrayed, disillusioned, angry, afraid and disconnected. The world is full of pain and suffering. We can feel the tension growing stronger. So what is really happening? The Bible tells of the increase in the intensity of the spiritual battle ( Ephesians 6:12 ) on the earth as the return of Jesus draws nearer. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 is very graphic in its description of what it will be like on the earth and we can see some of these signs right now: "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people."
What should our response be? Psalm 25:1 gives us a good place to start: "In you, Lord my God, I put my trust." Then take hope in knowing that God is awakening souls to His glory prior to the return of His Son. Habakkuk 2:14 says "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea." Finally, tell as many people as you can about the hope we have in Jesus. "To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."- Colossians 1:27
