Bible For Dummies 13.
God is abundant. We lack nothing if we trust in Him above all else.
I am creating a new series called The Bible For Dummies. It is not meant as a condescending title, but rather an attempt to see deep biblical truths that are easy to apply to our lives for better living in a distracted and busy world. So many people feel stressed and overwhelmed. Many people are carrying heavy wounds. Jesus can heal and restore all. He's the only one.
The Bible makes it clear that God owns everything and that God is abundant. He is Jehovah Jireh, The One who provides and El Shaddai, the all sufficient One. When we put our trust in Him, we can be secure in the fact that He lacks nothing, so we lack nothing. He may not always give us what we want, but He will provide what we need if we put Him 1st in our lives.
We need to realize what a scourge the mindset of lack is to our ability to be content in any situation. Lack is an anxiety producing, fear based state of mind designed by the enemy to question God's goodness and His ability to provide. When God is our source, we truly lack nothing, as Psalm 23:1 says. We must always remember we have all we need in Christ Jesus as the Apostle Paul wrote about in Philippians 4:11-13 “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” God has us, we lack nothing!
