Money is a great servant but a cruel master.

I am creating a new series called The Bible For Dummies. It is not meant as a condescending title, but rather an attempt to see deep biblical truths that are easy to apply to our lives for better living in a distracted and busy world. So many people feel stressed and overwhelmed. Many people are carrying heavy wounds. Jesus can heal and restore all. He's the only one.

Jesus talked more about money than any other subject other than the Kingdom of God. Why? Because Jesus knew all the complexities money brings. Money by itself is neutral, but how we treat it is of eternal significance. It's the #1 weapon satan uses to keep people from trusting in God. He deceives them into finding their security in wealth, rather than in Christ. The enemy even tempted Jesus by offering Him "all the kingdoms of this world" if He would bow down and worship him.

Unfortunately, many fall for that same deception. Here are 2 important Biblical truths about money that we need to be aware of and practice for our own protection and benefit: 1.Money is a great servant, but a terrible master. 2. Money can be a destructive idol if you allow it 1st place in your life before God. It will eventually smother your joy and make life all about more, with no chance for contentment and peace. However, money in its proper place can be a huge tool used for blessing others and bringing amazing joy into your life. It simply needs to be put into its proper place so it can be a great servant, rather than a cruel master.
