Parable of the Hidden Treasure
Nothing is worth more than God's Kingdom!
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."- Matthew 13:44
In the parable of the Hidden Treasure, we see a deep teaching from Jesus that let's us know that we should value nothing more highly than the pursuit of God's heavenly kingdom. Nothing can compare with the wisdom we get from seeking God 1st above all else, as Jeremiah 29:13 implores us, and the treasures of eternal life that are available to those who seek God above all else. Nothing is as valuable as knowing God and seeking Him daily.
Ronald Reagan said that "the answers to all of life's questions are found in the Bible, if only we would open up its pages and search for them." God wants to be known by us, He is not hiding, but we need to take the step of seeking Him. When we do we find treasures so valuable that nothing on earth can compare. So no matter the cost of following Jesus, we can know for sure that the eternal blessings of the Kingdom of Heaven are not worth comparing to any costs in the here and now.
