He is the Vine
Our job is to stay connected to the Vine of Life, who is God. That connection produces good fruit without struggle or straining
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."- John 15:5
Some people wear themselves out trying to prove themselves worthy of God's love. But here's the truth: God doesn't need more from you, He just wants more of you! Abiding in Him produces fruit, because we are connected to Him as the Vine of life and that connection provides us with much benefit. Like any healthy relationship, the more time spent together, the healthier that relationship becomes. God wants us to slow down enough to seek Him, spend time with Him and listen to Him. He doesn't need anything from us, He's the owner of it all, but He does want us! That is an amazing truth. He say's in Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God." We can't be still if we are running all over the place trying to earn something He has already freely given us. Just slow down enough to let His rest wash over you. Abide in Him. That's what we all really need in this hectic world.
