Get out of the boat

Yes, Peter began to sink, but at least he got out of the boat and for a moment he experienced the thrill of walking on the water.

The decision to grow always involves a choice between risk and comfort. Fear will never go away as long as I continue to grow. Fear will never leave as a follower of Jesus. so the main decision we must make is to renounce comfort as the ultimate value of our life. Why? Because God cares much more about our character than our comfort, and He wants us to become more like Jesus every day. That way, people will see the fruit born of our proximity to walking with Jesus and know that He is the one who deserves the glory!

Besides, when you think about it, everything is risky. Life is full of storms and challenges that can either grow us or destroy us. We must learn to focus on the Savior instead of the storms. Peter only began to sink when he looked away from Jesus and saw the storm. Any time God wants us to do something for Him, we will have fear. But we can trust his competence and his character. We can safely place our destiny in His hands. Courage must be accompanied by wisdom and discernment to be complete. Your boat is whatever represents safety and security for you apart from God himself. Will you learn to get out of the boat like Peter did? Yes, it was risky but it was also exhilarating. The rest of the Disciples chose safety and remained boat potatoes. God calls us to be courageous. Let's go!
