Compassion of Jesus

The compassion of Jesus is life altering

"When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:7-11

Jesus had so many uncommon qualities that made His ministry unique. He noticed the people others rejected. He ate with the “sinners and tax collectors “ that the religious elite despised. He had compassion on the woman at the well who had made a mess of her life, He forgave the adulterous woman whom the religious elite wanted to stone to death. He healed Lepers who society had treated as outcasts and unworthy. His compassion was shocking because He noticed the things most people turn away from.

For most people, acknowledging the brokenness of those around them makes them very uncomfortable because then they feel the weight of some type of responsibility. Not Jesus! He pressed in, He noticed, He cared, He forgave and His compassion overflowed on those society rejected. What a great role model for the world today. Put your trust in Jesus. He alone can save you. Romans 10:9-10
