Bible For Dummies 7
If God wants you to have a big platform He will it make it happen. Otherwise, be content with reaching people one on one. It's where real transformation happens.
I am creating a new series called The Bible For Dummies. It is not meant as a condescending title, but rather an attempt to see deep biblical truths that are easy to apply to our lives for better living in a distracted and busy world. So many people feel stressed and overwhelmed. Many people are carrying heavy wounds. Jesus can heal and restore all. He's the only one.
Many people are seeking platforms on social media and elsewhere to gain large numbers of followers of people they mostly don't know and may never meet. They are affirmation vampires, but affirmation that satisfies comes only from Jesus. Jesus never sought large platforms, never spoke in large stadiums and generally tried to avoid large gatherings, except for when He did the miracle of feeing the multitudes with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish in Matthew 14:17-21.
Jesus taught us some valuable lessons. He taught mostly one to one or in small groups, often in rural places, and always for His Father's glory. His platforms were kneeling in the dirt with the adulterous woman, meeting the Samaritan lady at the well in the middle of the day, or teaching as He walked along dusty roads. Seeking platforms for self-glory can crush you under the weight of other's false expectations. Jesus taught us to seek obscure platforms for God's glory, to love those He puts in our path, and to honor God with our lives. This approach bears much fruit in both this life and eternal life to come, and it satisfies our need for affirmation deep in our souls directly from the King of Kings.
