Bible For Dummies 21.
God is worthy of our praise. He loves us beyond measure.
I am creating a new series called The Bible For Dummies. It is not meant as a condescending title, but rather an attempt to see deep biblical truths that are easy to apply to our lives for better living in a distracted and busy world. So many people feel stressed and overwhelmed. Many people are carrying heavy wounds. Jesus can heal and restore all. He's the only one.
To truly follow God, we must understand His characteristics and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He is worth following. We must know that He is not jealous of us, but jealous for us, and so He wants us to know His character in ways that make us want to know Him more. So who is He? We get the answers that we can know directly from the Bible. Here are a few things we can know for certain that should give us confidence that He is worthy of being in 1st place in our lives above all else.
He is not just another folder in our lives, He is the filing cabinet that all other folders reside in: He is love. He is kind, patient, loyal, not judgmental, forgiving, long suffering, sovereign, omniscient, omnipresence, omnipotent and yet gentle. He is before all things and in Him all things hold together. Finally in Romans 11:36 it says "For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." That's the kind of God we serve. We is worthy of all of our praise indeed!
