Anyone can be a Good Samaritan
I am creating a new series called The Bible For Dummies. It is not meant as a condescending title, but rather an attempt to see deep biblical truths that are easy to apply to our lives for better living in a distracted and busy world. So many people feel stressed and overwhelmed. I hope these biblical truths give everyone a new tool to find peace in the middle of chaos and light and love in a world where they can seem elusive.
The story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-37 is quite simple yet incredibly powerful. Anyone can be a Good Samaritan. Only one thing is required: Be interruptible. Notice and see those around you who are in need. If you can help those in need out, do it. It could be a simple word of encouragement or a listening ear. The ones you would expect to notice often walk on by those in need. We need to be the hands and feet of Jesus and love our neighbor as ourselves. It is better to serve than be served.
