Worship the Creator, not His creation
God created all things for us to enjoy, but He alone deserves our worship.
"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.'- Colossians 1:15-16
"At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal. They exchanged their glorious God for an image of a bull, which eats grass."- Psalm 106:19-20
When we look at the two Scriptures above we see a glimpse of somethign that is still as active today as it was thousands of years ago. How do we respond to the sovereignty of God? In Colossians 1:15-16 we see that Christ created all things, and was before all the things of this world and all things were created for Him. Then in Psalm 106:19-20 we see humanity's propensity to reject God, and to create our own "images" to worship, in this case a bull.
Today we still worship created things over the Creator, and that is what leads to the masses creating a religion out of environmentalism and rejecting the One who Created the very earth they worship. So nothing much has changed. People still want to create their own "god" that they create, have control over and worship. But in the end this wil lead to disastrous results as they will miss the very thing they were seeking- the salvation of their souls. They are longing for God, but rejecting the One true God by creating their own little g god that they feel empowered by. This is the power of satan's deception and how he leads "the whole world astray" as Revelation 12:9 says. Be wise. Follow the Creator over the created and you will find the peace you soul desires and the love for the created that you long for.
