God isn't distant or unavailable.
Like any other relationship, the amount of time we spend with God will determine the intimacy we get from it.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you"- Matthew 7:7
Day 3- Practical Christianity is the ability to apply Biblical truths to your life in a way that helps your life function with more contentment. Today let's consider that God is not some distant being that is impossible for us to communicate with. In fact, in today's verse above in Matthew 7:7 we see Him inviting us to have a relationship with Him. It is like any other relationship in our life; The more time we spend in their presence, the better off it will be. With God, we can communicate in 3 main ways: Through reading His Word in scripture, through prayer and through seeking and listening for His responses. This sometimes requires us to "get away" or "seek solitude" like Jesus often did so he could hear his Father's voice. If He needed to, how much more do we?
One of my favorite verses in the Bible that gives us confidence that Jesus understands us and what we deal with in this broken world is Hebrews 2:18 which says "Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted" Jesus indeed gets our suffering, and understands the sinful temptations we face on a daily basis. He wants to help us gain victory over the areas of our lives we struggle with. Will you let Him?
