Everyone is wounded. Our wounds create scars. Our scars tell stories. Our stories matter. Jesus has nail scars in His hands. They tell a great story of unequalled love, grace, mercy and forgiveness that lasts for eternity. Yes He loves us that much! The really amazing thing is He proved His love for us before we ever even acknowledged Him. In fact, Romans 5:8 says "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." He loved us 1st, and He loved us in spite of our sinfulness and rebellion. That is life altering love. If you can't imagine that type of love, I understand. I was carrying a father wound that didn't allow me to feel it either. But one day, I asked Jesus to show me that type of love, as Matthew 7:7-8 invites us to, and He did and it changed me forever.
Because here's the real truth: Only God gives us hope in the hopeless, light in the darkness and joy in the chaos. Only He can do that. Trust in Him alone and your soul will come alive! he will not only heal your wounds, He will use them to tell your story to help other people who desperately need to hear it!
